On Cats and Books

"There is, incidentally, no way of talking about cats that enables one to come off as a sane person." ~Dan Greenberg

Cat Quote of The Day June 18, 2013

“I have spent too much of my life opening doors for cats—I once calculated that, since the dawn of civilization, nine hundred and seventy-eight man-centuries have been used up that way. I could show you figures.”
― Robert A. Heinlein, “The Door Into Summer

The current cats stay inside except for supervised trips, but this quote always made think of the cat I had as a kid.  He was always going in and out of the house. It drove my dad especially crazy.

The cat would cry pathetically to go out.  You’d get up, and let him out.  Five minutes later he would be scratching at the door to come in again.  The cycle would repeat on an endless loop.
